Our approach
We focus on the practical jobs that keep a home or rental property in good order: repairs, fixing and fitting, assembly, painting and outdoor fixes. These jobs matter to the people living with them, even when they're small, and each one gets proper attention.
We'd rather understand a job properly before we start than make assumptions on the day. That's why we ask for photos, a description and your postcode first, and why every job is quoted individually.
What we care about
- Clarity. You get a clear quote before work starts, and if something unexpected turns up, we talk to you before doing anything extra.
- Honesty. If a job isn't one we can take on, or needs a different trade, we say so plainly.
- Care. We work carefully, protect floors and furnishings where needed and clear up before we leave.
- Good communication. We agree times in advance and keep you informed if plans need to change.
How a job runs
It starts with your request. Tell us what needs doing, where the job is and the best time to call, and include your postcode so we can confirm the address is within our area. A list of several jobs is welcome.
We look at the details and either send a quote or ask a few questions first. Sometimes a measurement or one more photo is all it takes. Once you're happy with the quote, we agree a date and time for the visit.
On the day, we check the job with you before starting, do the work and show you what's been done before we leave. You can read more about how our prices are worked out.
What we take on
Most of our work falls under everyday handyman repairs, home maintenance, flat-pack assembly, painting and decorating, small kitchen and bathroom jobs, outdoor repairs and maintenance for landlords and letting agents. Small jobs are welcome, and so are long lists.
What we don't take on
Gas work of any kind, electrical installation and plumbing beyond very minor tasks are passed to suitably qualified, registered trades. TVs and other heavy items are only fixed to a wall if the wall is suitable. Bigger building work, such as extensions or structural alterations, is a job for a builder.
If something on your list falls into one of these areas, we'll tell you when we quote so you can book the right person. Saying no to the wrong job is part of doing the right ones well.
Respect for your home and privacy
Being let into someone's home is a matter of trust. We only go where the work needs us to be, keep the work area tidy and treat your belongings with care. If tenants are at home during a landlord job, we're courteous, keep disruption down and stick to the agreed times.
The photos and details you send are used to quote for and carry out your job. If we'd like to add a photo of finished work to our gallery of our work, we'll ask first and leave out anything that could identify you or your home.
